* 6. [Archives of the Comédie Française]. Registre de La Gra - Lot 6
* 6. [Archives of the Comédie Française]. Registre de La Grange (1658-1685) preceded by a biographical note. Paris, Claye, 1876. In-4, xlix, [4] f., 360 p., cherry half-maroquin with corners, spine decorated with faux-nerves, gilt head (David).published by the Comédie Française on January 15, 1876, the anniversary of Molière's birth, and printed on beautiful watermarked laid paper "Comédie-Française 1876". The author of this register was Molière's pupil, favourite actor, member of his troupe and friend for fourteen years. He kept a register for the whole period, writing down the programme of all the performances given, the figures for takings and sharing, adding here and there a short mention of the main incidents of interest to the troupe. Unknowingly a theatre historian, Charles de La Grange wrote, by filling in this register, nothing less than the diary of Molière's troupe. Some foxing. Binding slightly rubbed, three corners dulled. "First edition printed in 1000 copies of which only 500 were put in the trade, the rest being intended for the members." (Vicaire IV, 935; Fléty, 53).
