40 [Droit/André Ferradou]. Set of 37 law volumes bound in id - Lot 40
40 [Droit/André Ferradou]. Set of 37 law volumes bound in identical style, eggplant basane with smooth spine, and bearing on the first cover of each first or unique volume a gilt accessory mention in a scroll frame, in favor of André Ferradou (1872-1945). Volumes from the library of Professor André Ferradou (1872-1945) who taught public law for more than 30 years at the faculty of Bordeaux, and to whom we owe important contributions on the problem of feudal law in the 18th century. This library gathers various contributions on legal science in general, and on the history of law in particular: the Études sur l'histoire des institutions primitives by H. Sumner Maine (1880), the Histoire des locations perpétuelles et des baux à longue durée by E. Garsonnet (1879), the Étude sur la condition privée de la femme by P. Gide (1885), L'Esprit du droit romain dans les diverses phases de son développement by R. von Jhering (1886), etc. Bindings sometimes a little rubbed but beautiful aesthetic effect of this decorative unit. One of the accessions is attributed to Didier Louis de Libourne.
