Jean-Charles-Dominique de Lacretelle, known as Lacretelle le Jeune (1766 in Metz - 1855 in Mâcon), is a French lawyer, journalist and historian. He is considered as one of the pioneers of the historical study of the French Revolution. The first two volumes are devoted to the Constituent Assembly, volume 3 to the Legislative Assembly. Volumes 4 to 6 concern the National Convention and the last 2 volumes the Executive Directory.
