Bound in contemporary soft vellum with straps, title in ink on the spine. By comparing data, this famous German physician was able to establish subtle differences in order to distinguish diseases, notably the various eruptive fevers that were confused at the time. He differentiated between rubella, scarlet fever and chickenpox. He taught in Wittemberg for 35 years. During this period the city experienced 7 plague epidemics. He never left the city and remained in the service of the sick. During the eighth epidemic in 1637, he died of the plague. Fine marginal worm gallery present on about twenty leaves.
