Brown morocco, spine with ornate nerves, boards decorated with gilt filets and an original composition signed by Claude Durrens inlaid on the upper board, gilt head, inner gilt lace, case, 33 x 24 cm. (Raymonde Mompès-Durrens). Limited edition of 1480 numbered copies on vellum of Rives. The text of Flaubert is illustrated with 25 original woodcuts in color by the painter of Bordeaux origin Jean-Gabriel Daragnès (1886-1950). Copy in a remarkable binding signed by Raymonde Mompès using an original drawing by Claude Durrens (1921-2002). Some traces on the case and on the binding. Attached : EDY-LEGRAND (Édouard Léon Louis Warschawsky, dit). Évangile selon Saint-Jean. Paris, Maurice Robert éditeur, 1947. Bound in stiff vellum with smooth spine, original composition in pen and paint gilt on the upper board, gilt head (C. Garrigou). Limited edition of 1180 numbered copies on vellum rag. The text printed in two inks is illustrated with vignettes and plates in black by Edy-Legrand (1892-1970). Some foxing on the vellum.
