313. LYDIS (Mariette, ill.) & GODOY (Armand). The Litany of the Virgin. Paris, Blaizot, 1934. In-4, illustrated with 48 illuminated lithographs. Fawn calf, spine with ornamented nerves. Boards framed with a set of gilt and cold filets enclosing a composition of fleurons. In the center of the upper board, on a cross of cold fillets is inlaid a medallion painted and signed by the artist Claude Durrens who is the husband of the bookbinder Raymonde Mompès. The medallion depicts the face of a nun veiled in blue on a gold background. Interior lace. Lining of blue tabis (Raymonde Mompès Durrens). First edition of Godoy's poems illustrated with 48 original off-text lithographs by Mariette Lydis, illuminated with stencil and enhanced with gold by Jean Saudé. One of the most beautiful stencil books of the art-deco period. It benefits from a beautiful binding with an original work by the artist Claude Durrens. One of 115 copies on Rives paper with the watermark of the Virgin. Total edition at 131 copies (Monod, 5505).
