Portrait of a woman Female head, whose hairstyle frames her face with a row of small curls, the hair seems to be pulled back. Heavy spiral strands fall behind and in front of the ears, at the level of the neck. She wears hemispherical earrings whose brilliance is rendered by yellow highlights. The eyes are highlighted in black. Egypt, Roman period, 2nd / 3rd century Limestone, important traces of red and yellow polychromy H : 28 cm Condition : Shocks, probably some parts redone, chips, missing polychromy in some places Provenance : Acquired from Khawam Brothers in Cairo in the early 70's ; then transmitted by descent to the present owner.
