Jean ÉTÉ, heir to a family of jewelers, watchmakers and goldsmiths since Louis XIV, began his career in 1932 in Paris, on the Left Bank, where he worked with artists from Montparnasse and made Braque's first jewelry pieces. After the war, he opened a second store at 70 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré. The Jean Été house is famous for its "Soleil" jewelry and its bestiary. The house closes after the retirement of its founder in 1976.
