7. AVRIL (Paul) & UCHARD (Mario). My Uncle Barbassou. Paris, J. Lemonnyer, 1884. Gd in-8, 311 p., brown half-maroquin with corners, spine with false-nerve and gilt title, gold cover. Edition limited to 1000 copies, this one of the 500 copies on vellum of the ordinary edition. The text by Nicolas Marie Uchard, known as Mario Uchard (1819-1893), is illustrated with 40 compositions in the text, etched by Édouard-Henri Avril, better known under the pseudonym of Paul Avril (1849-1928).
Provenance: a member of the Journu family, famous shipowners from Bordeaux, attested by the armorial drystamp with the motto "Vigilens & Fidelis" on the title page.
Binding a bit rubbed, some foxing, especially on the engraved parts.
