The Institution of the Christian Religion is the major treatise of Protestant theology written by John Calvin (1509-1564). His epistle addressed to King François I is illustrated with a portrait of the king. There are two other engraved portraits: Jean Calvin and Augustin Marlorat.
Binding rubbed, small tear to the spine, reinforcement to the spine of the title page, some foxing and other minor defects,
