155. [Binding]. Red morocco binding with fanfare and royal arms. Office de la Semaine Sainte, latin and french, for the use of Rome and Paris. Paris, G. Dupuis, 1724. In-8, contemporary binding in red morocco decorated with a rich fanfare. Spine decorated with a ribbon encircling a fleur-de-lis. The decoration of the plates was made with an engraved plate. Guilloche cups. All edges gilt. Fully set work, decorated with a frontispiece and 3 plates engraved by Charles Nicolas Cochin. Calligraphic bookplate pasted on the reverse of the flyleaf: Soeur Marie-Françoise, 1741. Handwritten bookplate on the facing blank page: Geneviève Maitzlev. Some marginalia from the 18th century. 2 handwritten leaves of the time have been added and pasted in the margins to bring details about the Superior on the ritual A Complies and for the blessing of the Gospel of the Last Supper. Beautiful copy in a fanfare binding, called "du dernier type", stamped with the arms of Louis XV (OHR 2495-9). Binding very slightly rubbed, corners slightly rubbed, two small pinholes the size of a pinhead on the head box, barely visible.
