Mask in light wood, partly blackened and enhanced with kaoli - Lot 333
Mask in light wood, partly blackened and enhanced with kaolin, depicting an oval face with large almond-shaped eyes with pierced pupils, protruding mouth, and a two-shell hairstyle separated by a median stripe adorned with abrus seeds. Scale forehead scarification, wide ruff under the chin. Patina of use, wear. The general treatment evokes the Okuyi masks of the Punu, while the treatment of the eyes betrays a Vili influence from neighboring Congo. Height: 29 cm - Lumbo - Gabon
