Elmsley, 1785-1788. ? 2 vols. in-8, viii (faux-titre, titre, table), v-xii (préface), 382 p. ; [2] f. (table), 159 p., [2] f. (table), 104 p., iv (titre, table), 140 p, [4] p. Jean Alexandre Charles, Marquis de Casaux (1727-1796) was in turn a soldier, farmer, economist, politician and writer. A physiocrat thinker, his writings on political economy influenced Mirabeau, as they deal with very modern concepts such as the balance of imports and exports, price rises and consumption taxes. Covers worn, corners dulled, marks on leather, jaws superficially split, old labels stuck to spine and other minor defects. (GDU, III, 487d).
