Gd in-8, 838 p., publisher's polychrome boards after a plate by Auguste Souze, gilt edges. Popular work by archaeologist, historian and illustrator Henri Raison du Cleuziou (1833-1896), illustrated with 350 woodcuts, 5 plates and 2 maps of dolmens. Corners dulled, some foxing and minor defects. Also included: BUTCHER (Edith Louisa). En Egypte, choses vues. Paris, Vuibert, 1913. Gd in-8, 252 p., [1] p. (table), blue half-maroquin, ornate ribbed spine, gilt edges, gilt coat of arms of the city of Paris at center front cover (J. Taupin). Edith Louisa Butcher's (1854-1933) account of her trip to Egypt, translated by J. R. Lugné-Philipon, is illustrated with numerous out-of-text photographs, most of them anonymous or signed by Oxford photographer William R. Rose. Binding rubbed, traces of an ex-dono detached from the back cover, date scratched from the title, small paper loss in the margin of page 47 due to a bump, other minor defects.
