95. [BUC'HOZ (Pierre-Joseph)]. Traité économique et physique - Lot 95
95. [BUC'HOZ (Pierre-Joseph)].
Paris, Lacombe, 1775. In-12, xlviii, 455 p., marbled fawn basane, ornate ribbed spine.
René-Antoine Ferchault de Réaumur had published a successful work, but it dealt only with chickens. Here, the author extends his compilatory field to peacock, turkey, guinea fowl, pheasant, bustard, goose, duck, pigeon and even swan, although Buc'Hoz confides that its flesh is tough and difficult to digest, "capable of producing, instead of a good juice, many coarse and excremental humors".
Missing title-piece on spine, pale halo on almost all pages, other defects minor.
(Oberlé, Fastes, 533 Vicaire, 129 ; ; Musset-Pathay, 1966 for another ed.).
