(1828-1835). 5 in-8 issues and 3 issues of plates, stapled in publisher's printed covers. Subscription publication founded by Louis Pierre Vieillot (1748-1830), the sole author of the present issues, Anselme-Gaëtan Desmarest (1784-1838) and Henri-Marie Ducrotay de Blainville (1777-1850). The set includes 5 issues of text and 75 ornithological plates engraved after Jean-Gabriel Prêtre (1768-1849) and watercolored with great tonal fidelity. Set incomplete, with minor defects. (Nissen, 4634; Ronsil, 3030).
