168. FABRICIUS (Johann-Albert). Théologie de l'eau, ou Essai - Lot 168
168. FABRICIUS (Johann-Albert). Théologie de l'eau, ou Essai sur la bonté, la sagesse et la puissance de Dieu, manifestées dans la création de l'eau. La Haye, P. Paupière, 1741. In-8, xi, 420 p., fawn half-basin with ornate smooth spine (early 19th century binding).
Curious work by the learned German bibliographer and theologian Johann Albert Fabricius (1668-1736), who discusses man's use of water in relation to the idea God had in mind when he poured water on the earth. The author seems to have exhausted his subject, as water is described in all its forms and uses.
Binding slightly rubbed, boards a little curled, some foxing.
(Blavier, Fous littéraires, 643 under Madrolle).
