180. ALASTAIR (Hans Henning Otto Harry von Voigt), PATER (Wa - Lot 180
180. ALASTAIR (Hans Henning Otto Harry von Voigt), PATER (Walter). Sebastian van Storck. London, New York, John Lane, Dood, Mead and Co, 1927. In-4, publisher's boards, decorated beige cloth. Illustrated with 8 color plates by Alastair. Numbered first edition, an edition of 1050 copies containing one of the illustrations signed by the artist. The introduction is by P.G. Konody, and celebrates the artist's talent and the appropriateness of his illustration to the author's text. Alastair appears as the heir to Aubrey Beardsley, but with his own nervous, decadent energy. Cloth soiled, inside fresh.
