230 [Lot of illustrated books]. Set of 5 works in 8 volumes. - PARRISH (Maxfield, ill.), SAUNDERS (Louise). The Knave of heart. New York, Charles Scribner's sons, 1925. Gd in-4, publisher's illustrated boards, entirely illustrated by the artist on heavyweight paper. Incredible illustration, so avant-garde that it's hard to imagine it dating from 1925. The hyperrealism of the settings, which might suggest photographic processes, and the absurdity of the situations foreshadow the world of Terry Gilliam. Unfortunately, the copy is in very poor condition. Bound, seam broken, stains and foxing, etc. - HARRISON (Florence, ill), TENNYSON (Alfred). Guinevere and other poems. London, Blackie, 1912. Gd in-8, publisher's unbleached cloth boards, stamped with historiated gilt iron on first board. Fully illustrated by F. Harrison (1877-1955), an Australian illustrator influenced by Pre-Raphaelitism and Art Nouveau. She is best known for her illustrations of poetry by Rossetti, William Morris and Tennison, all published by Blackie. Reinforced cloth on spine, foxing, fair condition. - ROBINSON (Cayley). MAETERLINCK (Maurice). Blue bird. New York, Dodd, Mead, 1913. Publisher's blue cloth boards, illustrated with color plates. Soiled and stained boards. - GRANVILLE FELL (H., ill.), HAWTHORNE (Nathaniel). Tanglewood tale. London, J.M. Dent, New-York, Dutton, 1903. Publisher's green cloth boards. Illustrated with color plates. Covers tired, some foxing. - 3 albums by Sulamith Wülfing, 1 (wet cover), 9 and 12. - LAURENCIN (Marie), RONSARD (Pierre de). Un petit bréviaire d'amour. Paris, E. Figuères, s.d. Small paperback volume.
