One reads the story of a Brother Jacques who made many patients die under his scalpel because of a lack of method, of a woman whose bones had softened, of a potentially fatal disease transmitted to humans by cattle whose meat was nevertheless consumed without any inconvenience, a fascinating forensic report made from the exhumed corpse of a man suspected of having been murdered, etc. Provenance: the physician François-Joseph-Léon Rouzet (1795-1824) attested by his wet stamp on the title page. Binding rubbed, "Morand" inscribed in ink on the upper board, headbands faded, spines cracked, corners worn away, coat of arms drawn and watercolored pasted on the reverse of the first title page, some foxing.
