Paris, Robert de Vaugondy, s.d. (1774). Bound in brown basane with ornate smooth spine and title-piece, cold framed on the boards, 22 x 15 cm.
Atlas composed of an engraved frontispiece title, 189 maps (out of 190) printed on laid paper often slightly bluish, enhanced by hand with watercolored outlines, a folded table of maps at the end. All plates are mounted on tabs.
The map of France is missing.
In addition to the numerous maps of the different parts of Europe, there are 11 maps for Asia, 13 maps for Africa and 26 maps for America including specific maps for the West Indies, Saint-Domingue, Martinique, Louisiana, Florida, etc.
Most of the maps are dated 1748.
Binding slightly rubbed with spotting and damaged title-piece, tiny worm bite on the tab or margin of about 50 maps with very small damage to the engraved part on 3 maps only, the other defects are minor.
